Anse de Porticciolo - Port de Taverna, Corsica
33.2 Nm
(total 86.8 Nm)
headwind 1-2 Bf
under engine only
sea 1-2 Ds
I began a nine-hour journey under engine at half past one in the morning. I wanted to avoid the strong headwind that was predicted to arrive before noon.
The forecast came true to every last one letter. The wind picked up shortly after I docked in the marina Port de Taverna.
The anchor winch was still causing trouble, so raising the anchor was manual job.
I passed Bastia while it was still dark. A few hours later, there was a fantastic sunrise under a clear sky and calm sea.
At Port de Taverna, I did not succeed to refuel at the self-service pump.
Around eleven o'clock I was tied up at the pier.
After lunch, I went to check out the beach next to the marina.
I was greeted by a mantis from the local fauna.
In the evening, I popped into the marina restaurant to sit for a while and read a book. They didn't have any non-alcoholic beer, so I just had a bottle of water.
