On shore survey in Porto Azzurro

Porto Azzurro, Isola d'Elba
At anchor between Punta Perla and Punta di Calanova, Isola d'Elba

Woke up leisurely around eight.

I planned to go ashore and stretch my legs a bit.

But first, I stretched my arms by rowing the dinghy to Porto Azzurro. The round trip was about 5 km :-)

In the town, I had an excellent ice cream, or called gelato by Italians, and then I climbed up Monte Mar di Capanna, which rises 290 meters above the bay. On land, I walked just slightly more than I rowed with the dinghy on the water.

The weather was glorious and so the views from the mountain were awesome.

Along the way I spooked a snake, a herd of goats and was greeted by a jellyfish back in the water.

Around four o'clock I was back on the boat.
