We departed from Ostia before eleven. Before sailing to the sea, we refueled in the marina.
By half-past twelve, we had full sails and, at a speed of around five knots on a beam wind, we headed to the town of Santa Marinella.
By five, we were there. To keep us company, a Guardia di Finanza boat circled around us, trying to make contact. When we finally got close enough to hear each other, skipper shouted that we are going to anchor in front of the marina. This somehow satisfied them, and they disappeared into the marina, and we didn't hear from them again :-)
For dinner, among other things, we had guacamole; the avocados were almost ripe.
From the pilot, you'll learn that anchoring in front of Santa Marinella is very comfortable due to the mud and sand, as the anchor and chain hold well on the bottom. We were in five meters, and we didn't drift all night. Which is nice. However, we were on the windward side, with the wind blowing late into the evening, one wave following another, rocking us back and forth.
In the morning, we were all exhausted. No one slept well :-)
